Stephanie’s place is a step back in time and comfort! Jessa made a wonderful breakfast and great hostess. She gave us history lessons on the Inn and the area. The Inn was decorated for the Christmas season and highly recommend this stay

We had two rooms at this historic inn on a recent 'roomie road trip.' We absolutely loved this place. Stunning views of the river, peaceful, comfortable and clean. We can't wait to return.

Amazing location! We came on an impromptu anniversary trip and stumbled upon this great find! From the well decorated room, to the rocking chairs on the porch overlooking the river, to the breakfast in the beautiful dinning room, everything was well thought out by Stephanie.

This was a great place to relax and unwind. The view of the Ohio River can’t be beat. The breakfast each morning was great with lots of choices and a friendly hostess to greet you. This area has lots of nature and history close by to enjoy.

I cannot recommend the Rose Hotel ENOUGH. My fiancée and I came here for a two-night getaway. The hotel grounds are well-kept and the building is gorgeous. It feels like you are transported back in time to the 1890's Breakfast is served hot and fresh every morning, and Nancy was a DELIGHT. We had a wonderful conversation with her over our meal.Service is fantastic. Stephanie was attentive and responsive to our needs, which made us feel welcome. Too many hotels do not prioritize customer service, but I can tell you that is Stephanie's number one priority. She's not looking to just make money, but to build a support base of customers looking to return (And, trust me, we will!) The location is perfect, as it is right by the river, but also close to the downtown. A great bar nearby, a delicious ice cream shop, and you're a quick drive to Cave-in-Rock, Garden of the Gods, Pounds Hollow, and so many other spots If you want a vacation you won't forget, check out the Rose Hotel in Elizabeth

Considering the building was built in the 1800’s it was extremely nice. Very clean and enjoyed sitting on the porch in the rocking chairs. Breakfast was good and the cook/server was very friendly, courteous, and helpful. A list of places to eat would be helpful since we were not familiar with the area. Also a door sign stating lobby/dining would make it clear of where to go for breakfast but we did figure it out. Loved that we stayed in the oldest hotel in Illinois. Would highly recommend for those that enjoy historical places to stay.
