Such a quaint little town with a great view of the river and walking distance to the local restaurants. E-town River Restaurant hasn’t opened for the season, but the mercantile next door had ample meat options to take advantage of the grill. Nice to get away from busy life and relax and the coffee/ice cream next door was fantastic.

The cabin was rustic and beautiful. The view from the patio was outstanding, great to sip coffee, relax, and watch the water flow by! Stephanie was a very responsive host. I highly recommend this quant, quiet, peaceful cabin.

Home was nicely designed and airy feeling with the large windows. Nice private patio for outdoor sitting. Few steps to walk down to river and enjoy the cliff side views and watching barges. River Mercantile shop next door great place for ice cream and variety of unique items.

Stephanie’s place is a step back in time and comfort! Jessa made a wonderful breakfast and great hostess. She gave us history lessons on the Inn and the area. The Inn was decorated for the Christmas season and highly recommend this stay

The cabin of Stephanie’s is just as described. The location is peaceful and cozy. I highly recommend you giving it a try. She also has the Riverside Mercantile that has amazing drinks and snacks and other items. Right next to the Ohio River is relaxing. We will definitely stay here again. Stephanie is very helpful and responsive and goes beyond to help and make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.

Had a wonderful experience in the McFarlane suite. Instructions were super easy to get in and out of the suite. The space was decorated for fall and both welcoming and untouchable like the 19th century. Our inn keeper, Jessa, was unbelievably kind, she predicted what we may need and provide provided incredible hospitality, and warmth for our stay. She also was helpful for recommendations for food and experiencing the neighborhood best. Our suite was very fun and peaceful. I especially loved that there was no highway noise anywhere nearby in Elizabethtown so it made the experience very quiet. Wonderful experience!

Excellent stay! The property is conveniently located near the parks we came to explore and within walking distance of a great fish restaurant and a charming ice cream and gift shop. It’s perfect for a one-night getaway in a unique, historic setting with clean, modern amenities. The homemade breakfast was a wonderful touch and made our stay even more enjoyable.

Great place for a weekend stay- lots of good hiking nearby, and this home was a fun place for kids and adults. Peaceful, charming, and great location on the river; wonderful views.

The Historic Rose Hotel was absolutely stunning. Our visit was amazing! So peaceful being right on the river and the breakfast was delicious!! We couldn’t have asked for a better anniversary getaway!! Thanks to all the people that contributed to our visit!! They were amazing!! We will definitely be back!! 💕

Our family decided to make a trip down to southern Illinois to go and visit garden of the gods and we saw this place and fell in love !! So beautiful and everything was cozy and warm. Wish we could have stayed an extra night
